Welcome Back From Mrs. Sommer

It feels great to be back in the building with our students!  We are kicking off the new year with 89% attendance on the first day back!  Woot! Woot!  I was worried, coming back on a Friday is a bit unusual. I was so thankful to see almost all of our student return, ready with smiles and excitement!

I have a few quick notes to share in regard to upcoming school "happenings" for January.

  • Our annual Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser forms will be coming home today.  Our bundt cake sale was a huge success last year! Money is due at the time orders are placed.  Orders and money are due back to the school on Wednesday, January 24th. Cakes will be ready for pick up in Illiopolis on Friday, February 9th (just in time for Valentines Day)!

  • Students will begin FastBridge assessments next week.  I can't wait for students to see and track their growth and progress from the beginning of the year!  Please make sure your student has headphones at school to use with their chromebook.

  • Second quarter report cards will be sent home and available electronically on TeacherEase on Friday, January 12th.

  • The 5Essentials Survey will be released to families on Tuesday, January 23rd.  I will share more information closer to time. The data collected from teachers, students, and parents is very valuable to our school growth.  Your time and input into the survey is greatly appreciated!

  • SVI has some big ideas ahead for our students!  Stay tuned in to Dojo, TeacherEase, and Facebook to share in on the fun we have while working hard.

As always, I encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher and/or myself if you have any questions, concerns, or compliments!
