FAFSA Update

As you may know, the U.S. Department of Education announced that FAFSA Submission Summary forms for high school and college students will not be processed until sometime in March. So, students will not know their financial aid status or Student Aid Index Number (used to be EFC number) until March.

In order for students to meet FAFSA time changes and complete the financial section of their scholarship applications through The Community Foundation of Macon County, the scholarship application deadline is now Monday, April 1, 2024.

However, it was mentioned that students can complete the FAFSA Submission Summary Form  and submit it now, even though FAFSA is not processing these submissions until March. It was noted that students need to be careful when completing the FAFSA form because if an error is made, corrections cannot be made until March.

This is a very difficult time for students, counselors, and those offering scholarships, but we will all get through this together! If you have questions, please contact me. I will help you find answers if I don't have them already.
