Last week, high school band and color guard students spent a week together preparing for the upcoming marching season. In addition to learning fundamentals and welcoming incoming freshmen, the band learned the music and drill to Parts 1 and 2 of their 2017 halftime show "Shades of Latin" (which features music such as Sway and Oye Como Va).
These dedicated students took time out of the end of their summer and worked hard each of the five days, rehearsing marching and music with Mr. Gorecki, Coach Hargrove, and other talented marching staff. They learned new music, skills on their instruments, and how to move as a team on the field, finishing the week with a preview show on Friday. Great job to the Marching Storm on a fun and productive week, and good luck on your upcoming competitions!
Catch the Marching Storm performing "Shades of Latin" at Monticello on September 16, Effingham on October 14, and home football games at SVHS.
