SAT Information for Juniors

All junior students of Sangamon Valley High School will be taking the SAT on April 5, 2017.  The SAT is replacing the formerly used ACT as the new standard test for college readiness and will be the benchmark score for the application process for the next step after high school.  In order to help students prepare for this we will be during SAT prep during Advisory time every day with the Juniors.

Over the next 14 weeks we will be practicing as a class and using some features offered in the online practice.  One of the best tools to help prepare is to take the time to practice a full length test.  On the website there are six practice tests offered, but because of the inability to pause them, and the fact that a full test takes more than the allotted class time, we are unable to have the students complete them during advisotyr.  We strongly recommend that students take the time to complete at least one of these practice tests outside of class.  When they do, they will be able to see an actual score. The website will also be able to give them more individualized practice.

Please make an effort to encourage your student to practice and prepare themselves for the SAT this spring.  We look forward to helping your student to do their best and give them the skills to set themselves up for a bright future.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact a member of the prep team to help you:
